Furnace Noise and Poor Flame
      11/29/01 12:52 PM

I just bought a house with a 1997 American Standard furnace. It heats fine, but boy does it shout! Usually, after it has warmed up a bit it starts to squeal and rattle so loudly it wakes me up. It sounds almost like there is something in there, but all I can think of is that it is a bearing. Any ideas? How hard will it be to fix? Also, the inspector said the flame color was poor. How can I fix that? Thanks
