ur crocus are always the first to come up in your yard.

my daffies and hyacinth came up last month and are now dying back. the freesia is blooming all over in their pots and the rose bushes are leafy and budfilled. saw a few flowers on my backyard hybiscus, too. SPRING IS IN THE AIR!!!!

Last weekend, after 2.5+ months of snow on the ground, my husband went into the garden to remove the tarp off of the salad greens. The snow had finally melted enough so he could pull off the tarp. Much to our surprise, the greens were still alive! smashed, but green. I thought that w/ no sunlight for that long, surely they would have died.
The warmer weather of the last week has really perked them up. I think we'll be picking in a few weeks!

yea I love this time of year. The 18 inches of snow is about gone, rain for two straight days and temps in 30's, and everything is a soupy mess. I suppose now will be the time Ernie will chime in with his Caly-forny weather report of how nice it is over there

Still quite cool at night... but we've been in the 50's for a week. Even the snow piles are gone and the snowdrops are finally showing their flowers.
