I used my saw for something REAL simple
      #866836 - 02/11/10 07:25 AM

All I did was cut a piece 15" x 23" and made a shelf to go in the bottom of my B&D Workmate. I saw a workmate with a platform or something in the base (mine didn't have one) and so I went and made one. I can keep my drill there so that it's handy and in my sacred closet, I was able to put my 1960 B&D Drill (A million and one uses! You see - my tool closet has to LOOK the part!

I also made a clamping caul. I want to make a couple of these, smaller than the one I made, to help when clamping boxes. So I got to use my jigsaw. Need to practice these tools ya know!

But the real accomplishment is I finally made an auxillary fence that WORKS. I think I'll stick to using new wood from now on!!! Using wood from the streets can drive a person mad!

Finally, being a snow day and a World Famous Organizer and Records Analyst - I vetted all my woodworking magaznies, pulled the articles that I know will be helpful, consolidated them by main topic and put them in color-coded folders (spiral bound). Now I'm going to recycle the old ones (or donate them to the VA). Then, I rearranged my books and put all my woodworking books in one area (a couple old, painted, milk crates) - sorted by topic. I need a job so bad!! Next thing I need to do is create a list of projects (nice to dos, should do's and got to dos) just for making my woodworking easier. (list of measurements for router, circle saw, jig saw)

Never a dull moment in Brooklyn!!
