want to run service to my barn, thats 220' ft away ,, 60 amp 220v will be plenty, what size wire should i use with this distance ?? and would u advise to run a ground rod at the barn panel, thanks tom

wait for the REAL electricians but my initial thought would be #6 copper, don't bond at the barn, and sink a ground rod. ront

ditto the "wait for the real electricians" - but I think #6 would only be okay if you were closer. You'll need to account for some voltage drop due to that distance.
As for the bond part... I think you bond neutrals and grounds and drive ground rods, again because of the distance. Again, wait for the pros... the detached buildings always throw me.

OK, #6 is fine if the average load is pretty low. If you will be welding or the load will be heavy at times then I would bump it up to #4cu for the distance.
You need to run four wires and NOT bond the neutral bar in the sub-panel.
You can run a smaller ground, typically #10 for 50-60 amps. If you bump the conductors up to #4 though you do have to bump the ground up to a #8.
A ground rod is mandatory at a detached structure with a sub-panel.
