I live in the North east and have to winterize pool every winter, it is a 16x32 a.g. if that matters. I have found over time the round rubber plug with s/s center screw I use to close off the return inlet shifts as the interior ice mass partially thaws and refreezes, sometimes i can get it back in if there is enough thaw but sometimes the ice is still too thick to get my hands inside for repair and then i have constant water leakage. Has this happenned to anyone else? any corrective ideas? Thanks

. . You mean the 'eyeball' return?
Remove ball from inside - insert threaded plastic plug in same threads......

I actually have an aqualuminator light return, I have to check if it has threads but I don't believe it does. Thanks Bill

Bill, after I read your response I did a google search and they have a special rubber plug for the aqualuminator. It is the same type of rubber plug with screw in center but is longer and more tapered, i don't understand what would prevent that one from being moved by the ice mass though, and actually taking the whole setup with it.
