I got the stones, I got the stones, I got the stones! They came in the mail yesterday and the first thing I did was put a razor edge on my pocket knife. I'm sure they'll come in handy for maintaining my lathe chisels. And Judy was tickled with the towels you crocheted for her. Thanks Karen, You're a doll.

I'm so glad someone will put them to use! Today I finally set up my dado blades and let 'er rip! Once. Thanks be to God I didn't cut any fingers getting the blades on/off!

They're for burnishing!!!! I just got my Better Homes and Garden Handyman book. Sure enough, there is a picture of one of the more rounded stones being used to burnish a chisel post sharpening. This book is great for identifying some of the tools I have! I also have a 1/2 a set of a 1956 Popular Science Do-It-Yourself Encyclopedia. Both of these are great for learning the very basics! Like how to core an apple!!
