Citrus wood
      #864563 - 01/31/10 11:11 AM

Has anyone here ever done anything with citrus wood? My neighbor gave me two dying grapefruit trees which I pulled out by the roots. I have the trunk of a small orange tree and it's beautiful bright yellow wood. Will it fade? Is it dimensionally stable? Any information?

It makes good BBQ smoking chips...

I've heard of orange wood being used in inlays... It's quite colorful.

Here's a fun looking site

That orange tree wood is really beautiful! I was wondering the same thing as you. I don't recall ever hearing of that wood (in my vast experience!) but it sure would be pretty! I love that bright yellow color.
