I dont generally do plans beyond sketches with numbers drawn on them, but I can scan those and upload But then you'll all know all the shortcuts and cheap shots I take

I dont think you need to worry too much about copyrighted stuff. It would be fairly obvious if someone uploaded commercial plans and you just have to be responsive if someone contacts you to take it down. Plus I dont think that, at least initially, our traffic will be so large that we wont notice if someone uploads something new and obviously commercial.

Well it's been almost a year. Has anything happened? Maybe the idea could be scaled down to photographs, dimensions and materials.

Great Place to start... !!
Seems the PICTURES followed by Q&A's
might`` lend the ideas ``
that ONE then could incorporate in to
their OWN set of plans ?

Well here goes.

This is a stand I built for my new thickness planer. I don't have unlimited space in my shop so the planer, the jointer and the band saw are all on wheels. The jointer is parked in front of the lathe and the band saw is parked at the tail end of the lathe. The new planer weighs a hundred pounds so it can't just rest on a corner of a bench. I built the stand on four inch wheels and with the exception of a band of half inch plywood at the top, I managed to get the whole thing out of one sheet of 3/4" birch plywood and two 2 x 4's. It's a little under six feet tall and it's 24" square. It has three shelfs. The corner columns are 3-1/2" and 2-3/4" plywood boards, backed up by 2 x 2's which support the shelfs.

Here's a look at the inside of one of the columns.

The shelf the planer rests on is positioned so the planer's outfeed table is just slightly above the table saw's table which is the same height as all my benches. The adjustment crank of the planer is the only thing that protrudes out side of the stand's two foot width.

Soon I hope to add a drop leaf on the other side which will be my router table. Unless I can find something quite heavy to store on the bottom shelf I think I'll have to make a leg that will go from the router table to the floor.

I also intend to run both tools from a master switch which of course will have it's own power cord. I also intend to add just under the planer shelf, a drawer for router bits and accessories. I'm still trying to come up with something brilliant for dust collection from the router.

Is that the "tool tower" you asked about not so long ago? Looks good...

Thanks Scott. Give it a month and it'll give me back the time I put into it.

That is a great idea but remember there are copy right laws and I can be sure some one would try sneak a plan across that is not there's.I think if there was a release form that contributor signed to protect you as a editor would be the only way. I use Kregg Jig community form and lots of people submit there drawings on there. But there is no release form either.
