any experience w/ hot water radiant floor?
      #741447 - 07/17/08 03:00 PM

Thinking of putting radiant water tubing in my slab. Radiantec.com has convenient looking packages that seem to cost about $.75/sqft for the entire system, minus hot water source. I was also thinking of installing an outdoor wood boiler as the main heat source.

Anybody have any experience with this setup? I am a little nervous about installing all that hot water tubing in my slab, but I guess it is done a lot.

Radiant floor systems are done everywhere. One problem with radiant is the floor temperature. You'll have to do some fine regulating of the heat from the wood fire, as floor surface temperatures over 90F cause foot problems and it is dificult to keep a wood fired boiler below 140F water temperatures.
