**IMPORTANT - Connections for standby generators**
      #692355 - 12/30/07 01:31 PM

We here have decided to lift the ban on generator questions. Instead of sending folks away we will make sure that
ALL information given here is correct so that these types of jobs especially can be done properly.

This can be a very contentious topic, so any information given MUST be accurate, concise, safe AND legal. This means NO "male-to-male" cords and mandatory use of transfer switches/devices.

We must ask that lay persons refrain from replying or giving advice. PLEASE, only qualified and experienced people
reply to these types of questions/inquiries. This is to ensure the accuracy of information given regarding this very important topic.

Please don't even bother asking for advice on how to make a male to male cord, or how to connect to a dryer circuit.
We can advise on any legal and safe practice. ILLEGAL and UNSAFE practices or advice will NOT be tolerated.
