I made these little curved legs without knowing what they would be legs for. They are tapered , curved and laminated in two directions. They are walnut and maple and the feather edge on the walnut was next to impossible. As you can see, the four legs are all different. So I have to turn in my expert credentials.

Thank you.
The idea was to blend the laminates into disappearing points. Wood doesn't like that. I either tore the feather end off the piece or it was ten inches longer or shorter than the last one. I am going to call it "character". Or "Art"? I have a trial carcase with curved doors I will post for your collective critical appraisal, but not tonight. I plumbed a washer and dryer and gassed in a stove, and I ain't done any Christmas shopping yet So I'll take the rest of the night off.

When I say laminate, I mean layers of wood glued together. my dear friend. There is no plastic in these. And if you come up with a good idea for a cabinet to sit on these legs, I will make it and send you.......a picture of it Now for Christmas I was going to buy you the Riviera.

Would that be the French Riviera or Buick Riviera?

Well, Fran won't part with her car. Then again, I don't think she would spend much time in the Monte Carlo casino either. Geez, I'll have to take both the Rivieras back. What about fifty acres in Carmel with a twenty stall barn and a good hayfield?
Hey, wait a minute. I want that myself!!!
Fran, it's a plain jane Christmas for you, a diamond encrusted locket, a gold ingot, whatever is lying around in the bottom of my sack of pressies. (and I do mean "lying" here )
Will Best Wishes warm everybody's cockles?

It's the doing of it. Without that, there would be no poems or cathedrals or Buick Rivieras.
