attempt at wood turning This bowl was made
from a piece of redwood-driftwood
The center raised inlay ? I have not a clue
as to which type of wood it is..?

Been posted elsewhere, but here's my first attempt at knife making.
Forged in my homemade forge from a leaf spring. 5" blade, 9.5" overall, skinning knife. Hardened in oil, differentially tempered. One piece design.
It ain't woodworkin, but it's one of my hobbies!

Tried making another knife on Saturday, but I abandonned the attempt about 2/3 through. A good learning experience (know another thing not to do), but little to show for it. Learned a few new chiseling operations.
I'll be sure to post the next success!

Wow, just love your bowls and flute. Really beautiful. So OK, I'll play. Below is a pipe I made. Antler for the bowl and a carved piece of stag as the mouthpiece. Then the wood stem is wrapped in leather and sewed with sinew. Porcupine needles and beads are sewed into the leather, then rabbit fur around the front edge. The bangles are deer toes.
