We live close to a huge conservation land. The neigbhorhood in general also has a lot of old trees. Hence lots of squirrels. They seem to like our yard particularly since we re-seeded the yard last fall. It's so annoying to find deep holes scattered around the yard every day after we just patched them up the day before.
They also dig away soil around the foundation of the house where we had termite treatment done last year. If they keep going at this - it's going to cost us big time to re-treat the area.
We tried some chemical for squirrel treatment. We even got a bb gun to scare them. We also tried letting out our cat. Nothing quite helped. Any body have ideas. Oh - I know we have grub worms - is that what they are looking for? I don't think we have nuts in the yard.

This is a problem for many people. In addition, the squirrels in my yard have decided they like the way the plastic feet on my gas grill taste because they keep eating them!!! If you figure out something that works, let us know.

If you have binoculars, see if you can tell what they are digging for. If there were acorns buried, it's hard to stop them. If it's grubs, you can get some grub-specific poison. It may be a spring starvation thing.... ...see if you can buy some corncobs cheap to toss just into the woods.
